Wellsboro Green Hornets defeat Renova team by smashing victory, 26-6.

The Wellsboro Green Hornets, displaying some hard running half backs and fine blocking, pinned a 26-6 defeat on Renova at Renova Saturday.

The hosts pushed over its lone score in the first period with the Green Hornets scoring two touchdowns in the second period and one each in the third and final quarters.

Sophomore Bill Leonard scored three of Wellshoro's touchdowns with Bob Scranton adding the other. The victory evened Wellsboro's record at 1-1.

Art Bush kicked both of Wellsboro's extra points.

Bill Robinson tallied Renova's yard pass from Tom Edwards.

This week Saturday, September 23 at 2:00 p.m., the Wellsboro team will play the Port Allegheny team on the local high school field. This is the first home game and it is hoped a good turnout will spur the local team on to a second victory.
